You may notice that your Explore purchased delivered in or before August 2021 comes with two red deck light covers in front. This is not in line with Apollo's original white cover design, however it does not impact functionality nor lighting performance.
The new Explore deck features diffused lights that are not meant to light up the road ahead of you but instead allow the rider to be easily noticed by other vehicles. So it is really a question of what you like.
If you would like to switch out the covers for white ones, order the replacement set for free. You can swap them out in 5 minutes. All you need is a screwdriver. It is super straight forward, see the instruction video from Apollo.
