Why Plastic?
While Fluid Free Ride replaced my broken Folding Latch V2 without delay, and their service is fantastic, the NAMI Burn E has some poor material choices (i.e., the steer tube bolt is aluminum (black), the shock pins seem to be low-grade stainless steel and strip easily if you need to remove the shock, and the latch V2 is made of plastic. These are structural components. I recommend replacing them with available upgrades parts ASAP. Most important, the steer tube bolt is now available in steel (Silver), and the Latch pin is now available in aluminum.
As for the Latch V2, a slight sideways torch on the handlebars in the folded-down position can snap the hard plastic pin. Nami Electric does make an aluminum version but you'll have to order directly from them in China (Micheal Sha is very responsive). I will probably end up ordering it directly from them. I already bought the steer tube upgrade for USD $190.00.
