PEV/ Moped Repair Shop & service centers
With the ever-growing popularity of e scooters, PEV (personal electrical vehicle) and moped repair shops are an option to be considered for repairs of your electric scooter. You most likely have some close to home.
With growing numbers of electric scooter commuters, common repairs and maintenance will be needed. The shops will have professional mechanics who can help with a lot of your repairs as well as regular spare parts.
It will probably be more expensive than independent scooter mechanics but well worth it.
Scooter-Sharing Mechanics
In order to keep the fleet of share e scooters running, the various companies needed independent scooter mechanics to service and repair them. They were paid per scooter.
Companies have since changed their strategy and now have in-house mechanics instead. But the knowledge is out there and going online and asking for an independent scooter mechanic can pay off.
The warranty might not apply in these cases though since the repair is not manufacturer licensed. Bare that in mind.
Bike shops
You might not have a scooter repair shop in your vicinity but maybe your local bicycle repair shops can help you. Some of them retail and also service personal electric vehicles such as electric bicycles and might also do electric scooters.
However, the vast majority of bicycle repair shops will probably not be an option for an electric scooter repair as it looks at the time of writing.
DIY
Many of the parts on an electric scooter are easy to do yourself even if you don't feel like a DIY person. Brake adjustment, loose parts that just need tightening, does not need the work of professional mechanics.
Changing a flat tire can be a bit of a faff, but you can go to your local moped repair shops should you feel the need for help with that.
