Every month we love to celebrate our customers who are experiencing freedom using an e-scooter from fluid. This month Derek won the $100 voucher. Check out his journey below.
Sifting through numerous options where to get his scooter, Derek also researched people's experiences of various companies on Reddit and Youtube which led him to fluidfreeride and also made him confident it would be the right choice.
He opted for the Mantis V2 fluid Edition.
Derek commutes to work in the steep hilly parts of Seattle. He got rid of his car as he felt it was too expensive and too much hassle to use in the city. Therefore, the choice fell on a strong scooter that could tackle those hills.
But the joy of riding it has now overcome the original plan to just use it as a daily commute. In less than 3 weeks, Derek has put more than 400 miles on it and explored more of the city in those weeks than he has in the past 6 years. He can’t stop smiling and is extremely grateful for the experience riding the Mantis has brought him.
Derek's best rider story so far is when a friend took him across a bridge that goes over a big lake at sunset. Not having had a vehicle for some time has limited what he could do and experience each day.
Feeling the wind in his hair as they zoomed across the water with the gorgeous city skyline on the horizon gave him a newfound sense of freedom he hadn’t felt in a long time. It got very emotional for him and he found himself shedding a tear or two from happiness.
